It was a big night in Godalming tonight as Phil Hodder took his Laureando assessment. The rank is given to a student who has shown expertise with a number of weapon combinations and Phil’s assessment this evening required him to have a number of fights to showcase his range of skill.

Congratulations Phil on the hard work it has taken to get him to this stage.

Reading Training – 6th June 2022

Reading students started a new stream tonight, looking at an unusual weapon combination in Bolognase fencing (Sidesword and Parrying Gauntlet) from the Anonimo Bolognase and exploring the extrapolation of Bolognase techniques to dagger fighting and unarmed self-defence (based primarily on Marozzo, but with reference to other Italian fencing masters such as Fiore and Di Grassi)
