Kasten has been practicing HEMA since 2015 with The School of the Sword, specialising in Bolognese sidesword & buckler and rapier & dagger, focusing particularly on the styles of Manciolino, Alfieri and Fabris.
He has attended classes and workshops on a variety of weapon combinations and styles and entered several competitions and tournaments: in 2017 he won a gold medal in the Wessex League Bath Chapter rapier and dagger competition.
He is currently completing his Laureando (senior student grading) looking deeper into sidesword & buckler training techniques.
