On the 24th and 25th of February 2018, the School of the Sword is proud to present the inaugural English Sidesword Open.
Focusing exclusively on the sidesword and its companion weapons, this is a tournament and workshop based event introducing and bringing together practitioners and instructors of diverse styles and systems. We are also inviting the top manufacturers of safety and training equipment to showcase their wares with a spotlight on new gloves being developed to meet the unique demands of the weapon.
Competitors can follow either a steel or nylon stream, taking part in a maximum of two tournaments over the weekend chosen from the following (all weapons shall be provided):

- Sidesword & Rotella
- Sidesword & Dagger

By Train – Nearest station is Farncombe which has a direct line out of London Waterloo
By Air (Heathrow) – Take the Rail-Air bus to Woking station from which it is a direct rail link to Farncombe
By Air (Gatwick) – Take the train from Gatwick Airport station to Guildford and then change for Farncombe
By Car – Exit the A3 on the junction labelled B3000 Godalming & Farnham. Take first roundabout toward Compton & Godalming. Continue down this road for several miles before turning right immediately after going over the railway bridge. The school is on the left about half a mile down the road
