It was our regular Monday night training for our Reading chapter. Simon continued his stream on on “Chaos, Disorder and Street Fighting – Asymmetric and unusual fighting techniques” while Chris M looked at Marozzo Sword & Buckler
It was a big night for our Oxford Chapter tonight. Aside from their regular training streams, the chapter welcomed their latest Studente, James, after he passed his safety test. In order to pass the safety test students must demonstrate control, efficacy and knowledge of the cuts and guards of swordplay. James will now be able to progress to taking part in many of our other training streams as well as full sparring. Congratulations
It was an exciting night for our Godalming chapter tonight as they saw the addition of four new studenti after both Jordan, Oberon, Jack, and Ben passed their safety test and risen from the rank of Candidati.
After many weeks of hard work learning, Jordan, Oberon, Jack, and Ben have shown that they have understood the foundations of swordplay and are now ready to engage in a wider range of training as a Studente.
Congratulations to all of them.
It was our Swindon chapter’s regular training tonight, and our students continued their work looking at Dalla’gocchie. Tonight we looked at the second part of the “Moving Between Guards” Solo drill. Some great progress and it was great to see students helping each other with remembering this drill

Sunday saw our Oxford students gather for a bit out outdoor freeplay. These sessions are always helpful. There’s only so much time during a lesson to learn a new technique and often the best way to practise it is to incorporate it into sparring.
Tonight, our Godalming Chapter held our latest SotS Cinema: John Boorman’s classic Excalibur 1981. Before the screening for our members and their families, we had a brilliant demonstration of jousting Armour from Jedd, one of our instructors. It was a wonderful evening with fantastic moments.
It was Swindon’s weekly training night tonight, and students continued their work on Dalla’gocchie. Tonight we looked at one of his solo forms, and attempted to learn it. A fun night, with some lovely single sidesword posture.
Over the last couple of weeks, our latest batch of candidati have begun passing their safety test and rising to the rank of studente. The new studente will now be able to progress to taking part in many of our other training streams as well as full sparring
