Our students gathered in Reading tonight for the weekly training session tonight. James continued his block looking at rapier & dagger while Jo took students through Dalla’gocchie’s single sidesword.
Sunday saw our Oxford students gather for a bit out outdoor freeplay. These sessions are always helpful. There’s only so much time during a lesson to learn a new technique and often the best way to practise it is to incorporate it into sparring.
Tonight saw our weekly training session in Oxford, and students had a guest instructor. Lynette, from our Godalming chapter, visited to instruct our students in tactics and tells.
Our Swindon students gathered for their regular weekly training session tonight. We continued our work looking at Docciolini’s 2 swords, and more specifically, dealing with a thrust.
Our Godalming students gathered for their regular weekly training session tonight, with three streams of learning available. Fran looked at sidesword and dagger, April continued her work with the beginners and John hosted an impromptu lesson on tactics
Our Reading students gathered for their weekly training session tonight, and the second week in the latest training blocks. James taught rapier & dagger while Jo took students through theDalla’gocchie’s “Stepping in guard” drill.
Our Oxford students met up again today for their regular weekend sparring. Sparring gives them a chance to exchange with students they might not have sparred with before, practise weapons that might not currently be in the training curriculum, as well as get some much needed time to incorporate new techniques and tactics into their swordplay.
Our Oxford student had a guest instructor tonight as Lynette, from our Godalming chapter visited and continued to teach our students tactics and tells.
It was our regular Wednesday night training session in Swindon today. We continued our look at Docciolini’s two swords. Today we looked at counters whilst also trying to up the defense to a single tempo. With so much steel in the way, it’s tough on both the body and mind. Great levels of analysis by all students.
