Our Reading students gathered for our regular Monday training with three different streams of learning available.
Matt took the single rapier stream, Jay worked with students on Bolognese sword & buckler, and Christophe worked with the beginners working towards their safety test.
Sunday saw students from both Godalming and Reading gather in Hawley for our regular Sunday Sparring event.
Lots of weapons were in play today including single rapier, rapier & dagger, sword & buckler, and knife. Students also got to play around with weapons they don’t normally train with.

Jim is the latest of our students to pass his safety test and join the ranks of our Studenti.
In order to pass the safety test students must demonstrate control, efficacy and knowledge of the cuts and guards of bolognese swordplay.
Jim will now be able to progress to taking part in many of our other training streams as well as full sparring.

Sasha worked with students on single rapier, Adrian took the bolognese group through sword & buckler, and Fran and Richard worked with the beginners progressing towards their safety test.

Reading students met up in the centre of Reading last weekend for the latest School of the Sword social.
Drinks were drunk, pizza was consumed and some very nerdy jokes about fencing masters were exchanged.

There was another good turnout to Sunday Sparring last Sunday with students from both Reading and Godalming turning up to practise their skills and try new techniques.
As always our students were good at giving each other constructive feedback. We believe that levelling up your sparring partner helps everyone in the long run.
