New Beginners Start At Godalming
Godalming welcomed their latest batch of new starters tonight, with the start of their latest beginners classes. They will be taken through the foundations of swordplay in the coming weeks
We look forward to their journey in historical fencing.

Godalming Training – 7th September 2022
It was a busy night in Godalming tonight as the beginners’ group continued their introduction to swordplay, whilst the studente had the choice of two groups focusing on either sidesword or tournament prep.

Oxford Training – 27th July 2022
Tonight saw the start of our new beginners course in Oxford where students got their first taste of fighting with longsword.

Oxford Accepting New Students
Our chapters only take in students a couple of times a year, with some having long backlogs. Our Oxford chapter is now taking registrations for beginners. Starting at the end of July, you’ll begin with Italian longsword.
Our instructors are invited to teach worldwide, so don’t miss this opportunity to learn from some of the best. Places are very limited, so act now as it may be a while before places open in Oxford again.

Reading Training – 4th July 2022
Tonight at our Reading Chapter we saw the start of a new introductory course for beginners, together with dagger fighting and some serious studying of Capoferro for our more experienced students

The School of the Sword Oxford Grand Opening Day
Today we held our opening of The School of the Sword Oxford, with Q&A sessions, mini classes, demonstrations and sparring.
We had an enthusiastic group of newcomers to HEMA who put in a great effort, and we look forward to welcoming them to our Beginners Course.

New Beginners Course Godalming 2 May 2018
On Wednesday we had a thoroughly packed class in Godalming as 14 new people started the introduction to swordplay course. Simon also gave a lesson in spadone and Kasten taught a class on rapier & dagger. We had a brilliant time, everyone was very enthusiastic and eager to learn, and we look forward to watching our new candidati progress in the school.
