Students from both Reading and Godalming gathered in Hawley on Sunday to put their training to the test with the latest in our regular Sunday Sparring.
There was a good mix of single rapier, rapier & dagger, and sword & buckler on display, as well as some team games.
Wednesday night saw our regular training session in Godalming with three stream of training on offer to our students.
Fran worked with the beginners working towards their safety test, Adrian taught sword & buckler, and Sasha looked at single rapier.
Monday saw our regular Reading training session.
There were three streams of training on offer: Matt taught single rapier, looking at the slip. Jay looked at some close play and grapples, whilst Christophe worked with the beginners focusing on getting them ready for their safety test.
Sunday Sparring was in Reading this week.
Our weekly sparring sessions give our students the opportunity to not only practise with the weapons they’ve been training with but also to try out some other weapon combinations.
Last Wednesday our students gathered in Godalming for our regular training session, with three streams of training on offer.
Fran and Lizzie worked with the beginners progressing towards their safety test, Adrian took the Bolognese group through attacks and counters from Guardia di Testa, and Sasha continued his work with the single rapier students.
Our Reading students gathered for our regular Monday training with three different streams of learning available.
Matt took the single rapier stream, Jay worked with students on Bolognese sword & buckler, and Christophe worked with the beginners working towards their safety test.

Lots of weapons were in play today including single rapier, rapier & dagger, sword & buckler, and knife. Students also got to play around with weapons they don’t normally train with.

Jim is the latest of our students to pass his safety test and join the ranks of our Studenti.
In order to pass the safety test students must demonstrate control, efficacy and knowledge of the cuts and guards of bolognese swordplay.
Jim will now be able to progress to taking part in many of our other training streams as well as full sparring.

Jay took the bolognese stream through sword & buckler, Matt worked with the rapier students on single rapier and Christophe helped progress the beginners towards their safety test.
