Tonight saw our regular weekly training session in Swindon. This week we started looking at Altoni’s 2 swords and the differences to Docciolini. Whilst the traverso was found to be very similar, the posture was different. Good level of analysis and understanding shown by all students

Swindon Training – 17th July 2024

It was our regular Wednesday night training session in Swindon today.  We continued our look at Docciolini’s two swords.  Today we looked at counters whilst also trying to up the defense to a single tempo.  With so much steel in the way, it’s tough on both the body and mind.  Great levels of analysis by all students.

Swindon Training – 3rd July 2024

2024-07-21T21:43:40+00:00July 3rd, 2024|Sidesword, Swindon|

It was our regular Swindon training session tonight, and we continued our work looking at Docciolini’s two swords. We started with a warm up, trying to do the pretzel and figure of eight with two swords, before continuing our work with Dociolini. Because of the complexity, this week we looked to perfect the base drill as a two tempo move. Some great level of concentration, and some good level up.

Swindon Training – 26th June 2024

Our Swindon student’s started a new block tonight when we began to look at two swords (otherwise known as a case of swords).  It was a hot night so we took it slow, starting off with having some fun during warm up before moving onto the more serious work of Docciolini’s.  We stepped through the moves, breaking each of the parts into their own tempo.

Sunday Sparring – 29th January 2017

2017-01-29T17:59:32+00:00January 29th, 2017|Dagger, Rapier, Reading, Sword & Buckler|

We had a great turnout in Reading for our Sunday Sparring session today.  There was a great mix of weapons being played with: everything from rapier & dagger through to spear and rotella.  There was also a nice level of feedback from students as well, analysing their fights and point out areas of possible improvement.

We celebrated a very hectic, sweaty session with a trip to the pub and a nice carvery.
