Oxford Training – 6th June 2024
Tonight saw our weekly training session in Oxford, and students had a guest instructor. Lynette, from our Godalming chapter, visited to instruct our students in tactics and tells.

Our Swindon students met up tonight for their regular Wednesday night training session. Tonight we continued our work learning Dalla’gocchie’s Varying Among Guards drill. We did find a little time at the end for some sparring though.
Students gathered in Godalming tonight for our regular training session with two different streams on offer. Fran continued her rapier and dagger refresh / intro lessons, while Mark continued his lessons on sword and buckler.
Our Reading students gathered tonight for their regular weekly training session. Chris finished off his block on Sword & Buckler while Simon ended his block on asymetric fighting with a Tavern Brawl. looking at Palladini’s second and third admonitions, relating to drawing a sword whilst sat down. It was much enjoyed by the students.
Sunday saw our Oxford students gather for a bit out outdoor freeplay. These sessions are always helpful. There’s only so much time during a lesson to learn a new technique and often the best way to practise it is to incorporate it into sparring.

It was our regular training session in Swindon tonight and we continued our work looking at Single Sidesword. Student’s continued learning the Vary Among Guards drill by Dalla’gocchie. There’s a lot of factors to this drill, but students did excellently.
Our Godalming students gathered for the latest in our weekly sparring sessions today. These sessions provide our students with a chance to fight with new sparring partners, try out weapons not currently on the curriculum and get in some much needed practise.
