Tonight saw our regular training session in Swindon with students continuing their work looking at Dalla’gocchie. Tonight we looked at defences against attacks with an emphasis on footwork. Student’s managed to grasp the concept and unlocked new understanding of the importance of voiding. There was even time at the end for a little sparring.
Tonight saw the latest in our weekly Godalming training sessions and the start of all new study blocks. Fran started her rapier and dagger refresh / intro lessons, while Mark took a second stream on sword and buckler.

It was our Godalming Chapter’s weekly training night tonight and ahead of the new blocks starting next week, students enjoyed a freeplay session whereby they could put into practise everything they have learnt thus far, by sparring with each other. A fun night was had by all.
It was our regular Monday night training for our Reading chapter. Simon continued his stream on on “Chaos, Disorder and Street Fighting – Asymmetric and unusual fighting techniques” while Chris M looked at Marozzo Sword & Buckler
It was a big night for our Oxford Chapter tonight. Aside from their regular training streams, the chapter welcomed their latest Studente, James, after he passed his safety test. In order to pass the safety test students must demonstrate control, efficacy and knowledge of the cuts and guards of swordplay. James will now be able to progress to taking part in many of our other training streams as well as full sparring. Congratulations
It was an exciting night for our Godalming chapter tonight as they saw the addition of four new studenti after both Jordan, Oberon, Jack, and Ben passed their safety test and risen from the rank of Candidati.
After many weeks of hard work learning, Jordan, Oberon, Jack, and Ben have shown that they have understood the foundations of swordplay and are now ready to engage in a wider range of training as a Studente.

Sunday saw our Oxford students gather for a bit out outdoor freeplay. These sessions are always helpful. There’s only so much time during a lesson to learn a new technique and often the best way to practise it is to incorporate it into sparring.
