Tonight, our Godalming Chapter held our latest SotS Cinema: John Boorman’s classic Excalibur 1981. Before the screening for our members and their families, we had a brilliant demonstration of jousting Armour from Jedd, one of our instructors. It was a wonderful evening with fantastic moments.
It was Swindon’s weekly training night tonight, and students continued their work on Dalla’gocchie. Tonight we looked at one of his solo forms, and attempted to learn it. A fun night, with some lovely single sidesword posture.
Over the last couple of weeks, our latest batch of candidati have begun passing their safety test and rising to the rank of studente. In order to pass the safety test students must demonstrate control, efficacy and knowledge of the cuts and guards of bolognese swordplay. The new studente will now be able to progress to taking part in many of our other training streams as well as full sparring

It was another busy night in Swindon tonight as our students continued their work looking at Dalla’gocchie , Tonight, we looked at footwork and voiding as part of our defense. another good session as we progress with our understanding of single sidesword.
Our Oxford students met up again today for their regular Sunday sparring session. These sessions give students the chance to play with a range of weapons including those they might not currently be training, as well as practise techniques learned in class under sparring conditions.

Sunday saw our Oxford students gather for a bit out outdoor freeplay. These sessions are always helpful. There’s only so much time during a lesson to learn a new technique and often the best way to practise it is to incorporate it into sparring.
Spring is here with longer, brighter days. And at Freeplay in Godalming today we celebrated by giving Mike a gentle pasting for his Birthday Bearpit.
Another busy night in Oxford tonight as our Oxford chapter met up for their regular weekly training session. Tonight our candidati continued with their beginner’s course, working together with our advanced students practicing together Fiore unarmed and corresponding longsword technique.
