It was the last training session of the year tonight in Godalming and the evening was spent sparring. Three students performed their gradings. Congratulations to Abi for reaching Laureando, and to John and Lynette for reaching Spadaccino, our highest grade.
It was our Reading Chapter’s weekly training tonight, and it was a special night. A number of students went for their grading tonight, having to fight with or against weapons they may not have encountered before. When not supporting them, the rest of the students engaged in an evening of sparring.

It was Reading’s regular training night tonight, and students got to enjoy an evening of sparring. This not only gives students chance to practice techniques they have learned over the last few weeks but to incorporate moves into their current repertoire.
Our Oxford students met up again today for their regular weekend sparring. Sparring gives them a chance to exchange with students they might not have sparred with before, practise weapons that might not currently be in the training curriculum, as well as get some much needed time to incorporate new techniques and tactics into their swordplay.
